Managing remote mountain waste

Kalga

  • Addressed the plastic waste crisis at The Gypsy House by converting discarded bottles and wrappers into eco-friendly BottleBricks.
  • Created a permanent BottleBrick Drop Zone along trekking routes to Kheerganga and Bhunbhuni, enabling trekkers to deposit bricks made during their clean-up drives, directly reducing plastic leakage in fragile Himalayan ecosystems.

GreenCabin and Eco-toilet Construction

Shanag

  • Constructed a model toilet using 1200 bottlebricks and 200 glass bottles at Shanag, Manali along with local mason workers.
  • Renovated and converted a dead store room into a sustainable eco-friendly cabin for accommodation using bottlebricks, spare wood, all natural decor items and design.

Glass bottle shop for GreenAware

Shanag

  • Partnered with multiple cafés, homestays, and restaurants in Old Manali to collect empty glass bottles due to non-motorable logistics barriers.
  • 1500 waste glass bottles were used for the construction of a Sustainable lifestyle Store at Shanag, Manali.
