Project Milestones
Nepal
Cross-border adaptation in Lamzung, Pokhara, and Chitwan, from child-led stewardship to municipal integration.
- Child-Led Environmental Stewardship – In Lamzung, schoolchildren as young as six initiated weekly road clean-ups and BottleBrick production, embedding sustainability into early education.
- Sports & Community Infrastructure from Waste – Utilised BottleBricks to build a protective perimeter around a football field in Lamzung and began construction of public benches in Pokhara, turning waste into civic assets.
- Municipal Integration with Financial Incentives – Chitwan Municipality incorporated BottleBricks into its waste-pickup system, rewarding households NPR 2 per 5 BottleBricks. These bricks were used for fencing compost pits and furnishing public spaces like bus stands, merging environmental action with tangible community benefits.
